Position Overview

Responsible for managing maintenance, repair and replacement of the Engineer's Office vehicles and equipment and Operations' facility maintenance and repair. Responsibilities include: determining fleet and equipment repair and maintenance operation protocols to ensure safe working conditions; determining operational changes needed to respond to emergencies; evaluating fleet and equipment condition, life cycle, and replacement program; analyzing current and future needs in order to determine vehicle and equipment purchase specifications; overseeing fleet readiness and inventory management; supervising support staff, and managing compliance with regulations.

Summary of Job Duties

Manages operation, maintenance, repair and replacement of vehicles equipment, facilities, fuel station and parts inventory.
Oversees budgets and the purchase of goods and services related to vehicle, equipment and facility maintenance, repair and replacement. Disposed of surplus vehicles and equipment.
Maintains environmental and regulatory compliances, e.g., EPA, OSHA, BUSTR, NFPA, etc. Performs accident investigations and vehicle as well as equipment inspections.
Provides training on vehicle and equipment operation to Engineer's Office employees and technical assistance to other municipalities and agencies.
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level as required.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Associate's degree or two-year technical certificate in automotive and/or diesel technology, mechanics, or related field; and 5 years of vehicle maintenance experience.
Must maintain ASE Certification in Electrical, Brakes, Steering Suspension, and Gas and/or Diesel Engines.

Driving Requirement:
Must have a current and valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with Tanker Endorsement.
